Our Team

Fiona is a licensed conveyancer and, along with her husband Colin, the Principal of the firm. She has been working in conveyancing and property law since 1986 initially as a paralegal. She commenced working in law firms in the city. In 2003 the Hornsby office of Lane & Lane was opened and in 2022 been re-branded as Lane & Lane Conveyancing and Property Law to focus on our area of expertise – conveyancing property law. Fiona has been managing this firm since it opened. Fiona graduated from Macquarie University in 1997. Fiona has lived in the local area since 1985 and has great connections with the local community. She enjoys music and playing keyboard and singing in a local band. Fiona is focussed on service excellence and works tirelessly to ensure her clients are able to achieve the best possible outcomes at all times.

Colin is the co-director of the firm with his wife Fiona. Colin has extensive background in management and brings those qualities to our business. Colin enjoys music and plays violin and bass guitar in our local band.

Sarah is a Licensed Conveyancer and joined the Lane & Lane team in May 2021 bringing with her over 10 years experience in the legal industry. Sarah obtained her Conveyancing Law & Practice qualification through Macquarie University and graduated in 2021. Sarah has owned and managed businesses over the last 20 years which has provided her with many years experience in management and bookkeeping. Sarah grew up and still lives in the Hills district with her family and is involved in many local sporting clubs within the area.

Ros has been a licensed conveyancer since 1997 and has worked for herself for 30 years in different areas relating to real estate. Ros had her conveyancing business in North Sydney for over 10 years before selling her conveyancing business and started working for Lane & Lane on a part time basis. Her role is to assist Fiona as well as assisting other members of the team, when one of the team is on holidays. Ros enjoys quilting, yoga, plays the ukulele, is an active member of Rotary and is also a Primary Ethics teacher.

Cheryl is British born and after emigrating to Australia in the mid 1980’s, She went to the Northern Business College at Pymble and completed the Legal Secretary Training Program at The Law Society of NSW. Cheryl has been a legal secretary for over 35 years, working at a top tier legal firm and the Australian Government Solicitor. In 2003, to be home more with the family, Cheryl started working locally at Lane & Lane and have loved being there ever since. Her words “I appreciate the autonomous role that I enjoy as a legal secretary, and the constant updates and changes that have occurred in conveyancing, especially in the last few years. I work with a wonderful team and I am looking forward to the future with Lane & Lane Conveyancing and Property Law.”

Jenny has had vast experience working for many years in various large and small city and suburban firms and whilst most of her experience is with all aspects of conveyancing she has had experience in many different areas of law including litigation, criminal law, family law, Estates and mortgage work as well as some legal bookkeeping experience. Jenny has been working at Lane & Lane for nearly 10 years and her main role within our firm is as the settlement paralegal and she will always strive to ensure your settlement is completed with efficiency.

Luke has worked with the firm since August 2020 as an administration assistant, supporting the team with file archiving, client documentation, and other office duties not the least of which is the morning coffee run!
