Fiona Sephton
Fiona is a licensed conveyancer and, along with her husband Colin, the Principal of the firm. She has been working in conveyancing and property law since 1986 initially as a paralegal. She commenced working in law firms in the city. In 2003 the Hornsby office of Lane & Lane was opened and in 2022 been re-branded as Lane & Lane Conveyancing and Property Law to focus on our area of expertise – conveyancing property law. Fiona has been managing this firm since it opened. Fiona graduated from Macquarie University in 1997. Fiona has lived in the local area since 1985 and has great connections with the local community. She enjoys music and playing keyboard and singing in a local band. Fiona is focussed on service excellence and works tirelessly to ensure her clients are able to achieve the best possible outcomes at all times.
Colin Sephton
Colin is the co-director of the firm with his wife Fiona. Colin has extensive background in management and brings those qualities to our business. Colin enjoys music and plays violin and bass guitar in our local band.
Sarah Brooke
Sarah is a Licensed Conveyancer and joined the Lane & Lane team in May 2021 bringing with her over 10 years experience in the legal industry. Sarah obtained her Conveyancing Law & Practice qualification through Macquarie University and graduated in 2021. Sarah has owned and managed businesses over the last 20 years which has provided her with many years experience in management and bookkeeping. Sarah grew up and still lives in the Hills district with her family and is involved in many local sporting clubs within the area.
Cheryl Parker
Cheryl has recently graduated from the Macquarie University Conveyancing course with a distinction average. This has followed 35 years of working in the legal industry as a Legal Secretary and Paralegal in the Litigation practice of one of the top tier law firms, followed by the Australian Government Solicitor. With the arrival of her children, she started working locally for Lane and Lane in 2003. Cheryl has lived in the Horsby area for 36 years and has and continues to be, a supporter of a number of community groups. Working at Lane and Lane Conveyancing and Property Law has given me the opportunity to combine both things, the love of my community and my interest in the legal issues surrounding property law.
Jenny Cummins
Jenny has had vast experience working for many years in various large and small city and suburban firms and whilst most of her experience is with all aspects of conveyancing she has had experience in many different areas of law including litigation, criminal law, family law, Estates and mortgage work as well as some legal bookkeeping experience. Jenny has been working at Lane & Lane for nearly 10 years and her main role within our firm is as the settlement paralegal and she will always strive to ensure your settlement is completed with efficiency.
Jodie Chilvers
Jodie is a Licensed Conveyancer and joined the Lane & Lane team in August 2024 bringing 5 years experience in the conveyancing industry. Jodie also has over 20 years experience in the finance sector. Jodie obtained her Conveyancing Law and Practice qualification through Macquarie University and graduated in 2018. Jodie has lived in the Hornsby district all of her life and is actively involved in Girl Guides, running a unit in Waitara as well as involvement at a State level.
Luke Sephton
Luke has worked with the firm since August 2020 as an administration assistant, supporting the team with file archiving, client documentation, and other office duties not the least of which is the morning coffee run!
